Why Choose MU Health Care for Inpatient Pediatric Psychiatric Care
- Dedicated on-site teacher: Even though most inpatient stays are less than a week, we don’t want your child to fall behind at school. Our full-time, on-site teacher can help your child with their regular school assignments during their hospital stay. They will coordinate with your child’s school to get their homework, so you can focus on your family.
- Expertise in trauma-informed care (TIC): Our staff has been trained to create and maintain environments where children and teens affected by trauma can feel more secure. We will personalize your child’s care to meet their specific needs throughout their care journey.
- Specialized outpatient support after discharge: When your child or teen is discharged, we’ll provide you with a detailed plan for their ongoing treatment. Our Psychiatry Clinic offers the full spectrum of outpatient services, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help change harmful thinking patterns. We also offer outpatient family therapy, group therapy and parent education to ensure your family is well-equipped after discharge.
