Drive-thru, extended hours and walk-in clinics planned for September and October across central Missouri
MU Health Care will offer 24 flu and COVID vaccination events across central Missouri in September and October.
The events kick off in Jefferson City and Fulton on Saturday, Sept. 19. A walk-in event is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon inside the Madison Street Medical Building next to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. A drive-thru event will take place that same day in Fulton from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Both events will offer those 6 months and older flu shots, and those 12 and older can get COVID vaccinations. High dose vaccinations for those 65 and older will also be available.
Drive-thru vaccination events in Columbia will take place Sept. 26 and Oct. 17 at South Providence Medical Park from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
For the drive-thru events, patients are asked to wear loose clothing and short sleeves if possible; this is especially important for young children who will get the shot in the thigh. All patients should bring an insurance card and will be asked to review and sign a consent form before receiving a vaccination in their vehicle. MU Health Care employees should bring their badge.
Walk-in flu and COVID vaccinations will also be offered at the Columbia Farmers Market on Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Extended hours vaccination events at MU Health Care clinic locations are scheduled in Columbia, Ashland, Boonville, Mexico and Fayette. Those events will offer flu and COVID vaccination to those 6 months and older. A pediatric-specific walk-in vaccination event will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. until noon at the South Providence Medical Building pediatric clinic.
There will also be opportunities for those 7 years and older to sign up for appointment-only flu vaccinations at select Mizzou Pharmacy locations.
